Royal National Park – Sunrise at Otford – 2 April 2015

Daylight saving was just about to end, so this was about my last chance for a fair while to photograph the sunrise at Otford at the bottom end of Royal National Park.

My train got to Otford Station about 6:30 am, and I walked up the steep hill in the dark to the main road and then along to the National Park. A short way along the Coastal Track is a good lookout with views to the north. You can see the headlands between Burning Palms and Era, and between Era and Garie and then the sea cliffs further north. A great view!

I had plenty of time to set up my camera and tripod and then wait for the sun to rise.

The sunrise was not too atmospheric, but it was not too bad. Perhaps I need to return later in the year?

After the dawn, I walked up the Coastal Track for a couple of kilometres and then returned back to Otford and caught the train home.
