Woodford Dam Walk – 22 May 2019

The week before, I had been on a walk with Bob, from Faulconbridge to Hazelbrook. After a bit more research, Bob was keen to go back to part of the same area to look for some Aboriginal sites.

We set off along Winbourne Road at Hazelbrook and followed the fire road to Woodford Dam. Near the dam, we headed off track and explored some small cliffs looking for possible aboriginal art sites.

Despite a lot of looking, we had no success. But we did walk through some interesting country. in one place I found a lot of nice Yellow Rock Orchids (Cestichis reflexa)

Not too far way, there had been some recent hazard reduction burns, and by afternoon it was quite smokey where we were.

We walked back via a loop fire road that followed the foreshore of Lake Woodford.
