Local Birdlife 3 – 4 February 2018

Over the weekend I made a visit to Wolli Creek and two visits to the Cooks River to look at birdlife and other aspects of Nature.

Firstly, Wolli Creek on Saturday morning –

Hyacinth Orchid

Bulbul

Black Faced Cuckoo Shrike

And then, later in the afternoon, the Cooks River, near the Boat Harbour, a Striated Heron searching for food –

Meanwhile a White Faced heron flew past and landed –

Back to the Striated Heron –

And a Rainbow Lorikeet –

I could not spot any of the Tawny Frogmouths on this visit. It had been raining in the morning, and perhaps they had gone to better shelter? So I made a second short trip to the Cooks River on Sunday afternoon –

Corella

Striated Heron

Tawny Frogmouths

The Tawny Frogmouths were back at the Dog Area.
