Bundeena – More Whale Watching

Yesterday I went with Chuin Nee and her very young son, Jasper, down to Bundeena. We were hoping to do a bush walk along the coast and also spot a few whales.

Our bush walk turned out to be quite short – the tracks were all very muddy. Even though it hasn’t rained for a while – there was a lot of water around and a lot of deep mud. Chuin Nee was carrying a baby and it would have been very easy to slip over. So we just walked out to the rock platforms and along them for a bit.

Soon, we did spot a pair of whales. They were a fair way out – but I had brought a telephoto lens so was able to get a few photos of their tale slapping antics.

We also noticed a few New Holland Honeyeaters flying around very rapidly.

It was a beautiful day to be out on the coast in the Royal National Park.

Jasper was tired after all the whale watching.
