Wolli Creek Walk – 16 February 2017

After visiting Sassafras Gully the day before, I thought it may be worth a walk along the Two Valleys Track at Wolli Creek. I did not expect to see much fungi, but was on the lookout for birds and insects.

The fungi turned out to be quite poor. Not much was out. I spot a nice slime mould on a log at one place.

It was quite a hot day, so I think most of the birds were resting in the shade.

The flying fox colony was quite active. Recent heat has reportedly killed flying foxes at other camps, but most of these ones seemed OK. I could only se one dead one caught in some branches near the ground.

it was getting too hot to walk, so I finished at Turrella.
