This was a pleasant morning walk organised by Brian Everingham for the National Parks Association of NSW. On the walk was Brian, Esther and myself.

We started walking around the Forest Island Loop. This is a pleasant easy graded walk that takes you eventually to Bola Creek.

As we approached Bol Creek the amount of fungi that we observed increased.

We also observed a few slime moulds.

We stopped at the Bola Creek Picnic Area for morning tea and then searched the locality or orchids. We had no luck, but we did find a fair bit of fungi out.

We then walked up the track up Bola Creek a short distance – on the way we saw some more fungi, before returning and heading back to Brian’s car via Lady Carrington Drive.
