Empress Canyon

After visiting Hat Hill Canyon – we had plenty of time left for a trip through Empress Canyon at Wentworth Falls. Surprisingly, Bob hadn’t been through this canyon before.

We left the car at the Conservation Hut and made quick progress to the start of the canyon. Bob checked the logbook to see if there were any other parties (none for a few hours) – so down we went.

The canyon is nice – and for once the water seemed quite clean – but it is over far too soon. After recent rain – the main waterfall – Empress Falls was going quite nicely – but both of us finished our abseils on a side ledge rather than go all the way down to the pool.
