Faulconbridge Point Ride – 31 August 2013

Kim had her bike refurbished and was keen to take it out for a ride. I suggested heading out along Grose Road at Faulconbridge to Faulconbridge Point, a great lookout overlooking the lower Grose Valley.

On the train, we met up with friends Stu and Enmoore who were heading to Woodford for the Oaks fire trail. We talked them in to joining us on the ride.

It is a short way from Faulconbridge Station to Grose Road, and then not too far past the houses and high school to a barrier that marks the start of the good riding.

It didn’t take too long to reach the end of the road and the fantastic lookout. The riding was easy with no big hills and no technical sections. It is about 10-12 kms from the station to the end of the road.

This great vantage point was a good place for lunch.

Stu and Enmoore left us a little early – they wanted to walk down the track to the river. Kim and I rode back, and despite me stopping a few time for wildflower photos we got back to the station quite quickly.

A nice day out on the bikes. More photos are online here.
