Wolli Ck Fungi – 22 March 2018

Back from Tassie, I was keen to check out some fungi in my local area, so I set off along the Two Valleys Track along Wolli Creek between Bardwell Park and Turrella.

A reasonable amount of fungi was out. Tow were interesting. One was the first Cordyceps type fungi that I have found on my wanders through Wolli Creek. It was Cordyceps takaomontana ( = Isaria tenuipes and Paecilomyces tenures) which grows off a beetle larva.

The other interesting specimen was probably a Thelephora sp.
