Lane Cove Valley Fungi – 28 May 2017

This excursion was really an update to see how the fungi near Porters Creek that I think is Gliophorus psittacinus was going.

I started from Macquarie Park Station and walked into Lane Cove National Park and soon arrive at the Porters Creek Bridge. When I found the cluster of fungi, I found the Gliophorus psittacinus had dried out a fair bit. Some fresh ones had emerged, but none of them was bright orange.

I founds a few other species nearby and then made my way along the Riverside Track to the De Burgh Bridge, over it and then followed the Great North Walk Track downstream. There  were a few spots were I had seen nice fungi on previous years, but they were quite poor this visit.

Back at the Visitor Centre. I crossed on the weir and went to the bus stop to get a bus to North Ryde.

More photos are on my website here.
