Curra Moors Walk – 2 March 2017

My friend Wendy had been busy painting and studying and was desperate to get outside for a day. She suggested a walk in Royal National Park and invite me to join her. We considered a few options and ended up deciding on the Curra Moors.

Rain was forecast for the day, and we took rain gear and even umbrellas – but on the day we were very lucky. It was stormy – but we seemed to escape it all. Impressive storm clouds were all around – but we mainly had sun.

Recent rain had brought out a lot of nice fungi as well as a few lizards. So our walk was interrupted by many photos stops.

Once we reached to Coastal Track at Curracurrong the sun was by now quite strong, so we rested for lunch in an overhang near Eagle Rock. The we spent some time photographing the storm clouds.

After lunch we continued along the Coastal Track towards Garie Beach, taking a few side trips to inspect waterfalls, and then back along the Curra Moors Track back to the carpark.

On the way out, we made a short trip down to Bola Creek to see what fungi was out.

More photos from the day are online on my website here.
