Taronga Zoo – 1 February 2017

This was a very pleasant day at the Zoo. I went with John, his young sons Jasper and Sebastian, and Stephen and Eva. We started at the Finches – which were certainly very colourful.

Next, we visited the new Squirrel Monkey enclosure. On my last visit, I had gone to a preview of the exhibit, juts before it opened to the public. One of the keepers mentioned then that a lot of the females were pregnant. On this visit, we could not help noticing all the young monkeys – all being carried by adults. It seems that males (as well as females?) do this job of looking after the juveniles.

Then the bird show, and more animals, and later the seal show.

A highlight was the Meerkats – and a big group of new babies –

And I finished with a walk through the reptile section –

A nice day out. More photos are online on my website here.
