Michael - there are no real hard sections. A few places where you go over logs, you can avoid them by going around them.

Hi Dave. Great video. Haven't been there before and thinking about enterring an enduro race thing, but Im a newbie to MTB'ing. The track in the video looks very tame, and there seems to be alternative easy tracks whereever there are harder obstacles - is that correct ?

thanks,

No - haven't heard of that cave. It could be a BMCS name? I'm sure there are plenty more caves on the neck than just the well known ones.

Dave,
Have you ever heard of Phantom Cave on Narrowneck?
I was just reading the latest Blue Mountains Conservation Society newsletter and saw the following walk: Narrowneck to Castle Head, Phantom Cave and return via Diamond Falls.
The leader says the whole walk is only 6-7 km, so the cave can't be too far out.

Ive bought 2 pairs of old volleys years ago, never gave them particularly hard use but they have both lasted me about 3 years. Recently just went threw the second pair so have had to look for another pair and i do not like the new style volleys, the sizes have changes and they arent as comfortable. i remember putting on my first pair and feeling comfy in them straight away, new ones i dont, the sole is thicker which just feels weird and the fabric ends right on top of the knuckles on your toes which is just annoying!
Dunlop, go back to the old style!

My complaint is with use for Tennis.
My son (13yrs) trains 5 times a week on Synthetic grass (overlaid with river sand) and unfortunately the new Volley Internationals have proven to be a disaster.
While they still offer the best grip by far, we are already at hole in the sole stage after only 15 hours on court. Which means a new pair of shoes every 2 weeks (not happening).
The old Dunlop Volleys lasted 4 times as long.

Us three in early 1960 Wilf Hilder, Richard Plantinger and myself walked many hard trips, the three peaks in the Blue Mountans, Nattai River, the top end of the Shoalhaven River, jumping from rock to rock at the blockup, we would push one another to the limit. Wilf had a strong ego and it was a privilage to walk with him.
We three flew to south west Tasmania and walked from Madena to Mt.. Ann, the map we had ( and still have) was hand drawn, it was very rough. One day it rain all day and we made camp on the horozontal trees, hung our wet gear on a tree and the three of us in a small tent to heat water in our mug with a meta tab for a cup of soup, we bonded in well. It rained all night, it was bloody cold to put our wet gear on and keep on going but Wilf had a strong will and was a great mate to walk with "Wilf the Tiger."

The Travers-Sabine is a great walk - and very well marked - probably almost as good as the Overland Track. You need to go over one high pass (Travers Saddle) - which I don't think is too hard to climb from the Travers side. Then a steep descent (a lot on scree) down the Sabine side. Watch your knees for this. Nice huts and beautiful mountains.
