At Christchurch I met up with Rachael from SUBW, and we were heading down the Wanaka for a walk. But as it was Rachael's first visit to New Zealand, we first went by bus to Mt Cook for a few days. When we got there - we went to the camping area to camp. It was raining quite heavily.

At the camping area - we put up the tent but ended up spending most of the afternoon in the nice large shelter shed. The next morning it was misty and a bit wet - but we were keen to climb up to Sealy Tarns and Mueller Hut if possible.

We returned to the camping ground for a late lunch and then we headed off to the village to check out the visitor centre.

Next day we were catching a bus to Wanaka - but it didn't leave till after lunch so we had time to walk up the Hooker Glacier track

We then caught a bus to Wanaka and the next day - we caught a bus up the Matukatuki Valley and started our walk to Cascade Saddle
